IB JIO Recruitment Exam 2025: Selection Process

The IB JIO Recruitment Exam 2025 is a three-staged process and candidates have to clear all the three stages to get shortlisted as a Junior Intelligence Officer (JIO) Grade II/Tech post in the Intelligence Bureau (IB) under the Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA).

IB JIO Online Exam 2025 is the first phase of the recruitment selection process and is an online objective exam consisting of 100 questions and 100 marks. Candidates who clear the IB JIO Online Exam 2025 will be called to attend the IB JIO Skill Test 2025 and IB JIO Personal Interview 2025.

The IB JIO Skill Test 2025 will be a practical test and technical in nature commensurate with the job profile of Junior Intelligence Officer Grade II/Tech. The IB JIO Skill Test Exam 2025 will be conducted for a total of 30 marks.

Candidates who clear the IB JIO Online Exam 2025 will also be called to attend the IB JIO Personal Interview 2025. This IB JIO Personal Interview 2025 will be held for 20 marks. Based on their combined performances in Tier I (Online Exam), Tier II (Skill Test) and Interview marks, the IB JIO Final Merit List 2025 for the posts of IB JIO Grade II/Tech will be prepared.

The final selection to the post will be further subject to successful completion of character and antecedent verification followed by Medical Exam.

The IB JIO Tier I Online Exam 2025 is an online objective test consisting of two sections:

General Mental Ability

Essential Subjects (As per qualification)

The General Mental Ability section consist of 25 questions and the Essential subjects as per your qualification contains 75 questions. The total marks are 100 marks for the IB JIO Online Exam 2025. It is conducted for a total of 2 hour or 120 minutes. This online exam consists of a total of 100 questions.

There is a negative marking of 1/4^th mark for each wrong answer in the Tier I phase of the IB JIO Online Exam 2025 Selection Process.

IB JIO Recruitment Exam 2025: Salary Structure

The candidates shortlisted for the post of Junior Intelligence Officer (JIO) Grade II/Tech posts in the Intelligence Bureau under the Union Ministry of Home Affairs will be offered a pay scale of Level 4 (₹25,500 to ₹81,100) in the pay matrix plus admissible Central Government allowances.

This IB JIO Grade II/Tech posts in the Intelligence Bureau will be a Group C (Non-Gazetted, Non-Ministerial) post in the General Central Service of the Indian Government.

IB JIO Recruitment Exam 2025: Application Fee

SC/ST candidates, female candidates and eligible ex-servicemen are exempted from the ₹100 examination fee but must pay ₹550 as Recruitment Processing Charges.

Ex-servicemen already employed in Central Govt. Group ‘C’ posts after availing reservation benefits must pay both the ₹100 examination fee and ₹550 processing charges.

Any applicable banking charges for the IB JIO Application Fee 2025 are to be borne by the candidate.

Online payments for the IB JIO Online Exam Fee 2025 can be made only till the last date of submission of online application form, i.e. 14 September 2025.

Payments made through SBI challan generated on the last day of closure of online application forms can be submitted in the bank till 16 September 2025 (during banking hours only).
