What is NLC India Limited?

The NLC India Limited (NLCIL), formerly known as Neyveli Lignite Corporation India Limited, is a Central Public Sector Undertaking (CPSU) under the administration of the Union Ministry of Coal of the Indian Government. It was incorporated in 1956 and was wholly owned by the Indian Government.

NLCIL Apprentice Age Limit 2026

Candidates interested to apply for the NLC India Apprentice Recruitment 2026 should have the minimum age limit as prescribed in the official notification.

It is mentioned that according to the Sec 3(a) of the Apprenticeship Act 1961, candidates should have completed 18 years of age. The cut off date to determine the minimum age limit for the NLC India Apprentice Recruitment 2026 will be 31 October 2026.

NLC Apprentice Selection Process 2026

Candidates will be shortlisted for the positions of apprentice in NLC India Limited based on the percentage of the candidates in the respective disciplines.

The selection of candidates for ITI Apprentice will be based on the percentage of marks obtained in their qualifying ITI Exam.

For Graduate (Non-Engineering) candidates, selection will be made based on the percentage of marks obtained by the candidates in their Bachelor’s Degree.

Based on the percentage of marks scored by the candidates in their respective disciplines, a merit list will be prepared and announced containing the selected candidates.

For ITI Trade Apprenticeship the selected candidates list will be released on 23 November and for Graduate Apprenticeship, it will be released on 25 November 2026.

Shortlisted candidates will be called for NLC India Apprentice Document Verification and joining. Candidates will be expected to join NLC India regional offices at Neyveli or Chennai on 27 November 2026 for ITI Trade Apprenticeship or 2 December 2026 for Graduate (Non Engineering) Apprenticeship as per the official notification.

Selected candidates must execute a contract of Apprenticeship training as per the provision of the Apprentices Act, 1961 and Amendment Act of 1973.

NLC Apprentice Salary / Stipend 2026

Candidates joining the NLC India Limited under the aegis of the Union Ministry of Coal as an Apprentice would get a monthly stipend as mentioned in the NLC Apprentice Recruitment 2026 Notification PDF.

The Apprentices joining in the NLC India Limited are not eligible for any other allowances / benefits.

The apprenticeship training period is 12 months. Apprenticeship training does not guarantee permanent employment with NLC India Limited.
