SSC CGL Exam 2025 – Overall Vacancies

There are approx. 14582 vacancies in the recently released SSC CGL Exam 2025 official notification.

However, final vacancies will be determined in due course. Updated vacancies, if any, along with postwise & category-wise vacancies will be made available on the website of the Commission (https://ssc.gov.in> For Candidates > Tentative Vacancy).

Candidates may note that State-wise/ Zone-wise vacancies are not collected by the Commission. Candidates are advised to approach the concerned User Departments for information pertaining to zone-wise/state-wise vacancies.

SSC CGL Exam 2025 – Educational Qualification

Aspirants who wish to apply for the SSC CGL Exam 2025 are required to have a minimum of degree qualification and for some posts it is fixed to a certain degree which is as mentioned below.

Essential Educational Qualifications(As on 01-08-2025):

Junior Statistical Officer:

Bachelors Degree in any subject from a recognized University or Institute with at least 60% Marks in Mathematics at 12th standard level;Or Bachelors Degree in any subject with Statistics as one of the subjects at degree level.

Statistical Investigator Grade-II :

Bachelors Degree in any subject with Statistics as one of the subjects from a recognized University or Institute. The candidates should have studied the subject of Statistics at Degree Level in Part-I, Part-II and Part-III or in all the six semesters of three year degree course and not simply a paper in any part of the Degree or six semesters at degree level.

All other Posts:

Bachelors Degree from a recognized University or equivalent. The candidates who have appeared in their final year of their graduation can also apply, however they must possess

Essential qualification as on 01-08-2025.

As per Ministry of Human Resource Development Notification dated 10-06-2015 published in the Gazette of India all the degrees/ diplomas/ certificates awarded through Open and Distance Learning mode of education by the Universities established by an Act of Parliament or State Legislature, Institutions Deemed to be Universities under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956 and Institutions of National Importance declared under an Act of Parliament stand automatically recognized for the purpose of employment to posts and services under the Central Governmentprovided they have been approved by the Distance Education Bureau, University Grants Commission.

Accordingly, unless such degrees are recognized for the relevant period when the candidates acquired the qualification, they will not be accepted for the purpose of Educational Qualification. In case of the candidates possessing such degrees/ diplomas/ certificates awarded through Open and Distance Learning mode of education , such candidates shall also produce approval given to the University by the Distance Education Bureau, University Grants Commission for the relevant period at the time of Document Verification.

According to the latest SSC CGL 2023 Recruitment notification, SSC CGL Tier 2 will consist of 3 Papers.Paper 1 will be compulsory for all candidates, irrespective of the posts they are applying for. WhileSSC CGL Tier 2 is mandatory for JSO posts, andPaper 3 is for Assistant Audit Officer/ Assistant Accounts Officer.
