Candidates applying for the SSC JE Exam 2025 must be either a citizen of India or a subject of Nepal or a subject of Bhutan or a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before 1 Jan1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India or a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

SSC JE Exam 2025: Educational Qualification

Candidates interested to apply for the SSC Junior Engineer Exam 2025 must possess minimum educational qualification as mentioned in the SSC Junior Engineer Exam 2025 Official Notification PDF for the direct recruitment of 261 Stenographer Grade C and Stenographer Grade D vacancies in the Indian Government.

For other posts with maximum age limt up to 30 years mentioned in the SSC JE Exam 2025, candidates must have been born not earlier than 2 January 1996 and not later than 1 January 2008.

The cut-off date to determine the candidate’s age with respect to maximum age for the SSC Junior Engineer Exam 2025 will be 1 January 2026.

Age relaxation will be applicable for candidates belonging to reserved categories as per government norms in accordance with the provisions of the DoP&T for the SSC Junior Engineer Exam 2025 Selection Process.

SSC JE Exam 2025: Age Relaxation

The selection process for the SSC JE Exam 2025 for the recruitment of Junior Engineers in Civil, Mechanical and Electrical posts in various organisations and offices of the Indian Government includes two levels:

1. SSC JE CBE Paper I Exam 2025

2.SSC JE CBE Paper II Exam 2025

Paper I and Paper II of the SSC JE Exam Selection Process 2025 are computer based exams (CBEs). Paper I and Paper II of the SSC JE Exam will consist of objective type, multiple choice questions (MCQs). There will be negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answers in Paper I CBE Exam and 1 mark for each wrong answers in Paper II CBE Exam. Normalisation of marks will be done to determine the final merit list and cu-off marks.

SSC JE Exam 2025: Exam Pattern

The SSC JE Exam 2025 for Paper I and Paper II will be a computer-based exams (CBEs).

The Paper I CBE will consist of the following subjects:

1.General Intelligence and Reasoning

2.General Awareness

3.Part A – General Engineering (Civil & Structural) or Part B – General Engineering (Electrical) or Part C – General Engineering (Mechanical)

The number of questions in Paper I CBE will be 200 and the number of marks will also be 200. The duration of the Paper I CBE will be 2 hours. There will be a negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer in the Paper I CBE.

Paper II CBE Exam will consist of the following subjects:

1.Part A – General Engineering (Civil & Structural) (or)

2.Part B – General Engineering (Electrical) (or)

3.Part C – General Engineering (Mechanical)

Paper II CBE will consist of 100 questions asked for a total of 300 marks. The duration of the Paper II CBE Exam in the SSC JE Exam Selection Process 2025 will be 2 hours. There will be a negative marking of 1 mark for each wrong answer in the Paper II CBE of the SSC JE Selection Process.

SSC JE Exam 2025: CBE Exam Dates

SSC JE Exam 2025: CBE Admit Cards
