TNPSC Group 2 Exam 2025: Selection Process

The TNPSC Group 2 Exam 2025 Selection Process for the Group 2 and Group 2A vacancies comprises of two success stages:

1.TNPSC Group 2 Prelims Exam 2025 – Common Preliminary Exam for Both Group 2 & Group 2 A posts

2.TNPSC Group 2 Mains Exam 2025 / TNPSC Group 2A Mains Exam 2025 (Except for the post of Forester)

For the post of Forester, candidates should attend three successive stages namely: TNPSC Group 2 Prelims Exam 2025, TNPSC Group 2 Mains Exam 2025 and TNPSC Group 2 Endurance Test 2025.

The TNPSC Group 2 Mains Exam 2025 is conducted for the selection of candidates for posts in the Group 2 services. The TNPSC Group 2A Mains Exam 2025 is conducted for the selection of candidates for the posts in the Group 2A services.

For the post of Forester alone, a physical standard test and endurance test consisting of a walk over 25 km and 16 km to be completed in four hours by male and female/third gender candidates which will be conducted by the Principal Chief Conservator of Forest after the TNPSC Group 2 Mains Exam. This physical standard test and endurance test will be conducted in Chennai only.

TNPSC Group 2 Exam 2025: Prelims Exam Pattern

The TNPSC Group 2 Prelims Exam 2025 will be an offline OMR exam and consist of a single objective paper for both Group 2 and Group 2A service vacancies. It consists of the following subjects:

1.Language – General English / General Tamil

2.General Studies

3.Aptitude and Mental Ability

The TNPSC Group 2 Prelims Exam 2025 will consist of 200 questions and will conducted for a total of 300 marks.

The time duration of the TNPSC Group 2 Prelims Exam 2025 will be 180 minutes or 3 hours.

The questions in the Language and the Aptitude and Mental Ability sections will be of SSLC standard. The questions in the General Studies section of the TNPSC Group 2 Prelims Exam 2025 will be of Degree standard.
