TNTET Paper 1 is conducted for candidates aspiring to teach Classes 1 to 5 (Primary Teachers), while TNTET Paper 2 is meant for candidates who wish to teach Classes 6 to 8 (Upper Primary Teachers). The TNTET syllabus and subject-specific sections differ for each paper.
Both TNTET Paper 1 and Paper 2 consist of 150 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) carrying 150 marks. Candidates are given 3 hours (180 minutes) to complete each paper.
No. There is no negative marking in the TNTET Exam. Candidates are awarded one mark for every correct answer and no marks are deducted for incorrect responses.
