The CSIR ASO Recruitment 2026 is a two-stage process and candidates have to clear the Computer Proficiency Test (CPT) to get shortlisted for the posts of Assistant Section Officer in various disciplines and streams in the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) Limited.

The CSIR ASO Selection Process in 2026 is based on the candidates’ performance in the UPSC CSE 2024 and a Computer Proficiency Test (CPT). There is no written exam.

Candidates will be shortlisted for the Computer Proficiency Test based on their total marks in the UPSC CSE 2024 (Mains + Interview). The shortlisted candidates must appear for the CSIR ASO Computer Proficiency Test 2026 for a qualifying 100 marks. This CSIR ASO CPT 2026 will be qualifying in nature.

The final selection for the CSIR ASO will be made on the basis of the total marks (UPSC CSE 2024 (Mains + Interview)) subject to qualifying minimum threshold marks in the CPT.
